6:54:08 PM Julie: : ::the guards come in early that morning to take Jack out of his makeshift cell::
6:54:37 PM Quantum Catz: JK: ::is getting a bit fed up of being stuck there:: They all check out then?
6:55:12 PM Julie: : ::another guard, with a bit of a snooty expression, nods:: Every blessed one of them, sir.
6:55:56 PM Maeve: MV: ::she smirks, looking even more irritated than usual:: And me? Have you finally decided to let me go yet?
6:56:34 PM Julie: : ::the guard shakes his head, though a bit of a smile comes to his lips:: Not yet.
6:56:47 PM Maeve: MV: ::she pales, shifting:: What is that suppose to mean.
6:57:11 PM Julie: : ::he ignores Maeve, standing by while they get Jack out::
6:58:09 PM Quantum Catz: JK: ::glances back at Maeve:: Good luck, Maeve
6:58:29 PM Maeve: MV: ::she pulls on her ropes, looking rather scared; mutters:: Yeah. Right...
6:59:46 PM Julie: : ::they escort Jack out::
7:00:21 PM Maeve: MV: ::her eyes dart back to the other guard:: You know... I could use a trip to the facilities...
7:00:53 PM Julie: : ::the guard nods:: In due time, ma'am.
7:01:07 PM Maeve: MV: What does that mean?
7:01:37 PM Julie: : In a minute, when the others return.
7:02:02 PM Maeve: MV: ::barely hides her look of disappointment::
7:04:55 PM Julie: : ::when the other guards return, the guard sends one to escort Maeve::
7:06:04 PM Maeve: MV: ::she goes along quietly, biding her time::
7:06:26 PM Quantum Catz: JK: ::heads straight home from the building, coming in the front door without saying anything::
7:06:51 PM Julie: LB: ::has been pretty upset lately; is trying to let Milo play by himself::
7:07:17 PM Maeve: MO: ::he gets up from playing with his toys and runs to greet his father::
7:08:00 PM Julie: : ::someone else is in the washroom; the guard waits, smirking at Maeve; whispers:: What's that spark in your eye?
7:08:05 PM Quantum Catz: JK: Hey, kiddo - you been a good boy while i've been gone?
7:10:32 PM Maeve: MV: ::she frowns:: None of your concern if there is or isn't.
7:11:38 PM Julie: LB: ::glances up at her husband, then turns away::
7:13:07 PM Maeve: MO: ::he nods his head:: You back for good Daddy?
7:13:50 PM Quantum Catz: JK: Yeah, that's me home again
7:15:13 PM Maeve: MO; ::he points down at his toys:: Play!
7:15:31 PM Julie: : ::the guard narrows his eyes at Maeve:: You know I'm leaving the door open.
7:15:56 PM Maeve: MV: ::she pales:: No, you're not.
7:16:01 PM Quantum Catz: JK: Let me just talk to Mommy for a minute, okay?
7:16:10 PM Julie: LB: ::her shoulders tense::
7:16:20 PM Maeve: MO: ::he doesn't look happy but he doesn't argue either::
7:16:22 PM Julie: : ::the guard grins:: You *are* a prisoner; you have no right to privacy.
7:16:41 PM Maeve: MV: I haven't had a trial! You have no right to hold me!
7:19:57 PM Quantum Catz: JK: Libby...
7:20:41 PM Julie: LB: ::shakes her head, not facing him::
7:21:26 PM Quantum Catz: JK: ::sighs and goes through to the kitchen on his own::
7:25:53 PM Julie: : ::the prisoner shrugs:: We know the truth already.
7:26:33 PM Maeve: MV: ::glares::
7:26:40 PM Quantum Catz: JK: ::starts making himself something to eat::
7:27:21 PM Julie: : ::finally, the person in the washroom slips out::
7:27:42 PM Maeve: MV: ::looks back at the guard, coldly, expecting him to untie her::
7:27:48 PM Julie: LB: ::it takes her several minutes to compose herself enough to head to the kitchen; clears her throat:: H...how's Maeve?
7:27:58 PM Julie: : ::the guard frowns:: You know what happens if you try something.
7:28:15 PM Maeve: MV: ::she nods:: Sure.
7:28:27 PM Quantum Catz: JK: ::doesn't look at her:: Still in there. They ain't gonna let her out this time, i don't think
7:29:35 PM Julie: LB: ::nods, turning away, putting one hand on the back of a chair:: I'm not sorry I did it.
7:32:14 PM Julie: : ::the guard unties Maeve, then draws a crossbow::
7:32:18 PM Quantum Catz: JK: You might be when Isaac's buryin' her
7:32:55 PM Maeve: MV: ::she pales a bit and moves towards the washroom. She tries closing the door anyway::
7:32:59 PM Julie: LB: ::swallows hard, choking back a sob:: She...she needed them back...
7:33:06 PM Julie: : ::the guard puts his foot in the gap to hold it open::
7:33:50 PM Maeve: MV: ::she flings the door back at him, rushing out::
7:34:22 PM Julie: : ::the guard yells, trying to grab Maeve, even if he has to do it by the hair::
7:35:00 PM Maeve: MV: ::she yelps in pain then reaches up, trying to burn him::
7:35:13 PM Quantum Catz: JK: Maybe
7:35:28 PM Julie: : ::the guard screams, which sends the others running to try to stop Maeve::
7:36:15 PM Maeve: MV: ::she gets free and runs::
7:36:27 PM Julie: LB: ::bows her head, her back still to Jack; she doesn't speak::
7:37:43 PM Quantum Catz: JK: ::softly:: We should be fine - i covered my tracks well enough - they shouldn't find out i went anywhere near those kids
7:37:55 PM Julie: : ::two more guards step into the hallway and run at Maeve::
7:38:05 PM Julie: LB: ::her voice breaks:: I wasn't worried about us.
7:38:26 PM Maeve: MV: ::she throws a fireball, not caring where it hits as long as she can dodge them::
7:39:44 PM Quantum Catz: JK: ::turns to look at her, and she can see he's upset with her:: You should have been - we could have both ended up in jail
7:40:18 PM Julie: : ::the fireball catches one of the guards, but the other chases after Maeve, drawing his sword:: We don't want to kill you!
7:40:47 PM Maeve: MV: Could have fooled me! ::she keeps running::
7:40:55 PM Julie: LB: ::glares back at Jack, tears streaming down her face:: I couldn't let her live like that!
7:41:26 PM Quantum Catz: JK: You'd rather Milo ended up without his parents?
7:42:18 PM Julie: LB: You get out of everything!
7:43:58 PM Julie: : ::the guard runs after Maeve::
7:44:22 PM Quantum Catz: JK: ::softly:: I don't, Libby - i broke out of jail to come here. Hell, i'm lucky i'm alive after that coma
7:44:23 PM Julie: : ::the composed guard steps into the hallway and shoots at her without a moment's hesitation::
7:46:31 PM Julie: LB: You did all sorts of things, not caring if your boy grew up without a dad.
7:46:31 PM Maeve: MV: ::she reaches what she hopes is the exit and tries to push the door open. Before she can, the arrow goes into her shoulder, slamming her against the door. She screams::
7:46:56 PM Quantum Catz: JK: Why do you think i stopped?
7:46:59 PM Julie: : ::the calm guard comes and pulls Maeve back:: Stop that; you'll heal fine. ::tries to force her back into the room::
7:47:20 PM Julie: LB: And it took you how long? How many close calls?
7:47:54 PM Maeve: MV: ::she tries to pull away, groaning:: Let go of me! I've got a daughter... please...just let me out.
7:48:40 PM Julie: : ::the guard says:: There are two ways out of here, and one's in a box. Keep this up and that's the route you're taking.
7:49:37 PM Maeve: MV: If the other way doesn't lead me back home.. you can't kill me! You've already hurt her! ::she tries to slap at him, angry enough at just that::
7:49:57 PM Quantum Catz: JK: Well next time you need my help i just won't bother then
7:51:06 PM Julie: : ::the guard dodges Maeve's hand, calling for help to cuff her again::
7:51:28 PM Julie: LB: ::in a low voice:: I didn't ask.
7:53:28 PM Maeve: MV: ::she tries to move, crying out in pain when she does so::
7:53:54 PM Quantum Catz: JK: ::sighs:: I'm not in the mood for this
7:54:09 PM Julie: : ::they get Maeve cuffed and drag her back into her room::
7:54:44 PM Julie: LB: ::turns away, not replying::
7:55:07 PM Maeve: MV: ::tears start pouring down her cheeks, mostly from pain:: And the other way? Would that be the noose?
7:55:52 PM Julie: : ::the guard grabs Maeve's shoulder:: Hold still. ::moves to remove the bolt::
7:56:14 PM Maeve: MV: ::she tenses and look away::
7:56:38 PM Julie: : ::the guard yanks the bolt out::
7:56:57 PM Maeve: MV: ::she tries not to but she screams anyway::
7:57:52 PM Julie: : ::the guard has them tie Maeve to the chair again::
7:58:40 PM Maeve: MV: ::she pulls away, not wanting to be confined to the chair again:: If you're going to kill me why don't you just do it!
7:59:25 PM Julie: : That wasn't our plan! Now get in the chair!
7:59:38 PM Maeve: MV: No! I want to go home!
7:59:59 PM Julie: : ::tenses, and lets the other guards force her down::
8:00:28 PM Maeve: MV: ::she struggles:: They already released me! You have no call to hold me! Let me go!
8:01:03 PM Julie: : ::the man calls in another couple guards to try to get Maeve into the chair::
8:01:47 PM Maeve: MV: ::she cant fight all them and once they have her seated, she breaks into gut wrenching sobs::
8:02:31 PM Julie: : ::the man nods to the other guards, who leave; the calm man sits in another chair, watching Maeve as she cries::
8:03:47 PM Maeve: MV: ::she ducks her head, trying to hide. But after two days she can't take it anymore:: I just...just want...my family.
8:04:16 PM Julie: : ::the man nods:: That's not going to be possible now.
8:05:35 PM Maeve: MV: ::she rocks, trying to stop the sobs:: It's not...not fair. I want my daughter... you'll kill her.
8:05:51 PM Julie: : Perhaps, and perhaps not.
8:06:39 PM Maeve: MV: I'll do anything. Please. Please. I don't care. Anything... just let me see them. Please let me see them.
8:06:57 PM Julie: : Even say goodbye to them again?
8:07:26 PM Maeve: MV: ::she cries harder and then nods:: Not fair... it's not fair.
8:08:10 PM Julie: : ::the man moves his chair closer to Maeve:: Do you know why we wanted those kids back?
8:08:31 PM Maeve: MV: ::she shakes her head::
8:09:40 PM Julie: : There are some people--men, mostly--who would like to kill our queen. Very dangerous. We caught them and were going to remove their powers, but with those kids gone...::shakes his head:: They've escaped.
8:10:30 PM Maeve: MV: ::she takes a deep breath, trying to calm herself:: So? Why do you still have me. Would it matter? If you just let me walk out?
8:11:15 PM Julie: : Sixteen of them. If you would help us...
8:11:58 PM Maeve: MV: ::she looks up, frowning::
8:12:33 PM Julie: : Once they were dead, then we could let you go back to your family. I can't say what the mayor here would do, but the queen would pardon you.
8:13:15 PM Maeve: MV: ::she shakes her head:: Are you insane? Surely you have other people...
8:14:16 PM Julie: : Others have tried, and failed. They seem to have procured charms to protect themselves. But no charm in the world can protect against fire forever.
8:14:59 PM Maeve: MV: ::she shudders; whispers:: You are insane. What makes you think I could even do it?
8:17:07 PM Julie: : ::shakes his head:: One of the queen's...er...advisors...said you were suited. So we were told to give you the choice.
8:18:15 PM Maeve: MV: ::she shakes her head, not sure she could go through with it::
8:19:57 PM Julie: : It would take just a few weeks. If not, of course we'll have to kill you, and I don't think your daughter will live through that.
8:20:17 PM Maeve: MV: ::she pales:: You can't. You can't do that to her!
8:21:11 PM Julie: : It's not what we want to do, but...you're like a loaded gun. If there's no use for you, it's just reckless to leave you around here. Better to be rid of you.
8:21:56 PM Maeve: MV: ::she closes her eyes, shivering:: I haven't killed an innocent person...
8:22:09 PM Julie: : These aren't innocent.
8:22:32 PM Maeve: MV: ::her eyes open:: No! That's why I'm not a loaded gun!
8:23:06 PM Julie: : Some families might disagree with your definition of innocent, Mrs. Kindall.
8:23:35 PM Maeve: MV: ::she bites her lip and looks away::
8:25:01 PM Julie: : I'm not authorized to release you, so for the sake of your daughter, I suggest you take the offer.
8:25:57 PM Maeve: MV: ::she nods:: Fine. But I want to see them first.
8:26:24 PM Julie: : You will say goodbye to them? Like you'll never see them again?
8:27:01 PM Maeve: MV:: ::whispers:: I've done it before.
8:28:54 PM Julie: : ::nods:: All right. ::pauses:: Do be advised, if you do try to cross us in any way, we will not hesitate to kill you, regardless of what consequences that may entail.
8:29:28 PM Maeve: MV: ::she pales and nods:: What are you going to tell my family then?
8:29:44 PM Julie: : That you're dead, of course.
8:30:21 PM Maeve: MV: ::looking ill, she shakes her head:: What? Can't you just tell them you're locking me away!
8:31:53 PM Julie: : They might try to break you free, though. And if they did that, suddenly they'd be the ones put away. That's too much trouble.
8:32:18 PM Maeve: MV: I can't do that to them...
8:32:50 PM Julie: : Either way, Mrs. Kindall, they're going to be certain that you're dead. I'd suggest you take the option that lets you have a chance of returning safely to them.
8:33:42 PM Maeve: MV: ::she cringes:: Chasing after felons isn't really taking my life, or Livvy's very seriously either.
8:35:41 PM Julie: : We have ways to protect our own, if we choose to.
8:36:36 PM Maeve: MV: ::she nods:: Lovely
8:36:58 PM Julie: : I will need your word, Mrs. Kindall, and then I can summon them.
8:37:37 PM Maeve: MV: ::she's silent for a few minutes then finally nods her head; whispers:: You have my word.
8:38:36 PM Julie: : ::the man nods, and calls for them to summon the family; afterwards:: You may call me David if you'd like.
8:39:01 PM Maeve: MV; ::she looks up, grunts, and then looks away again::
