YarnKittymon: LB: ::smiles at Maeve when she
comes into the shop; she's folding some shirts:: Did you enjoy
your day off?
Maeve Owens: MV: ::smiles back, nodding:: I
guess you could say it was...eventful. How about you? Anything
exciting happen while I was gone?
YarnKittymon: LB: Not really. Went to the late
showing of a film with Jack after we closed. ::is still smiling,
and the sparkle of a small diamond on Libby's left ring finger
catches Maeve's eye::
Maeve Owens: MV: ::looks surprised when she
catches sight of the ring, her mouth falling open slightly then
once she's recovered, she smiles at Libby, clearly happy for her
friend:: Oh! Libby! I'm so happy for you! ::hits her arm playfully::
And you were all worried he wouldnt
commit. So when did it happen?
YarnKittymon: LB: ::looks down at the shirts,
still smiling:: It wasn't any big deal...he just brought it back
from Gate Town last time he went out.
Maeve Owens: MV: I meant when did he propose!
YarnKittymon: LB: ::blushes a bit; softly, not
looking at Maeve:: The 29th.
Maeve Owens: MV: ::her smile widens:: Awe, thats
so neat. I'm happy for ya Libby. We should go celebrate.
YarnKittymon: LB: ::looks up at Maeve again,
grinning:: We should. How's tonight sound?
Maeve Owens: MV: ::grins back:: Its good for
me. Have ya set a date yet?
YarnKittymon: LB: ::shakes her head:: Hopefully
before the year's up, but we haven't really talked about it yet.
I don't know how big it's going to be, either; I'm not a little
girl with dreams of a million-dollar wedding anymore...
Maeve Owens: MV: So you leave out the huge ice
sculptures and the caged birds and the fifteen layer wedding cake.
At least you've got the guy of your dreams right? It'll still
be nice no matter how much you spend on it.
YarnKittymon: LB: ::smiles warmly:: I didn't
mean *that.* I meant, I'm not sure if we'll have bridesmaids.
Maeve Owens: MV: Oh, okay. So does that mean
your not thinking about having it in the church or something?
YarnKittymon: LB: ::smirks:: We'll be in *a*
church. Not *the* Church, but Jack's not Catholic so they wouldn't
let us even if there was a priest in town. ::smirks:: I'm just
saying you might not get to wear a frilly pink dress in front
of all of Marquis.
Maeve Owens: MV: ::clutches her heart and pretends
like she's dying:: Oh no! What cruelty!!! ::gags and dies::
YarnKittymon: LB: ::looks down at Maeve calmly,
though she's smiling:: Oh, so you're dead now? Hm. Pity. ::gets
back to folding shirts::
Maeve Owens: MV: ::lifts her head up then sticks
her tongue out at Libby:: And she doesn't even care I've died
of a broken heart over not getting to wear an ugly...err, I mean
pretty... frilly pink thing. ::she gets up, brushing the dust
from her clothes::
Maeve Owens: ((yeah i was gonna try to say that
maybe her outfit has changed from her ragged brown skirt and white
shirt but i failed miserably))
YarnKittymon: ((LOL; I didn't think she was wearing
a ragged brown skirt anyway. ^^; And Libby would've made her wear
presentable stuff what with Maeve working in a clothing store;
she would want to get the point across, "Look how pretty
you can be if you dress right," not "if you have natural
beauty you can look gorgeous in rags" :D ))
Maeve Owens: ((yeah i figured that too... which
what i was gonna try and do... heh.))
Maeve Owens: ((well not the last part. ;P ))
YarnKittymon: LB: ::laughs:: Well, I was going
to buy you one for the funeral, if it's any consolation.
Maeve Owens: MV: ::wrinkles her nose:: In that
case I'll just come back to haunt you.
YarnKittymon: LB: ::laughs:: But it's hard to
be frightened of someone in a puffy pink dress.
Maeve Owens: MV: ::smirks:: Oh, but you've never
seen *me* in a puffy pink dress. ::tugs on a strand of her red
hair:: And this isn't the only reason either. ::grins::
YarnKittymon: LB: ::laughs again:: We have that
dress near the back, if you'd like to try it.
Maeve Owens: MV: ::shakes her head:: Nah, especially
if you plan to sell it. It could get ugly.
YarnKittymon: LB: ::grins:: I'm not sure it'll
sell anyway...but if you destroyed it I'd take the money it cost
out of your check.
Maeve Owens: MV: ::sticks her tongue out at
her again:: You're mean. ::laughs::
Maeve Owens: CI: ::She pushes the door to Libby's
shop open, her gray eyes sweeping across the clothes racks. She
smiles when she sees Maeve and Libby. Picking up the skirt of
her long blue dress, she walks towards the two, her thick black
hair flowing behind her::: Hello!
YarnKittymon: LB: ::looks up:: Welcome to Libby's--oh;
Ciama! Good morning! How have you been?
Maeve Owens: CI: Things are looking up. Father
is doing much better now. How are things here?
YarnKittymon: LB: ::laughs:: If you were really
interested, couldn't you have your sister check?
Maeve Owens: CI: Well, I could, or just try
and peek into your future myself but I kind of feel more like
a spy than a friend. ::laughs::
YarnKittymon: LB: ::laughs too:: I guess I appreciate
that, then. Did you come here to just check up on us in person,
or were you looking for something in particular?
Maeve Owens: CI: ::she glances down to her long
blue dress which looks a little out of date:: I thought perhaps
I'd pick up a new wardrobe actually. Maybe try to appear a little
more in style. Besides I still have to replace my favorite high
heels. I'm down to three pairs. ::grins::
YarnKittymon: LB: ::laughs:: If you came and
lived in town like a reasonable person you might not lose them
quite so quickly, you know. ::walks over to a dress rack::
Maeve Owens: CI: ::laughs too:: Father wouldn't
approve though. ::sighs:: I bet living in town is a lot more fun
than out in the middle of nowhere. I mean look at the neat shops
you have around here? ::pouts::
Maeve Owens: MV: ::flatly:: Yes, but one can
only shop so much. ::smirks:: Or if lucky... never.
YarnKittymon: LB: ::looks back at Maeve:: No
wonder you rarely earn a commission. ::looks back at the dress
rack, picking out a rather unusual dress with an irregularly hemmed
skirt that falls mid-calf; looks back at Ciama:: What do you think?
Maeve Owens: MV: ::frowns, although she cant
think of a reason why that statement isn't true::
Maeve Owens: CI: ::nods, looking excited:: Oh,
its so pretty!
Maeve Owens: MV: ::sighs::
YarnKittymon: LB: ::offers Maeve an apologetic
glance, but no more, and spends quite a while helping Ciama find
clothes::
Maeve Owens: CI: ::seems to be lost in a whole
new world and is really enjoying her shopping experience, having
missed this simple pleasure in life for a very long time::
YarnKittymon: LB: ::gets caught up too, and doesn't
worry how much it all must cost until after they've finished;
hesitates when she tells Ciama the price, which is only a couple
dollars more than Libby herself paid to buy the clothes and shoes::
Maeve Owens: CI: ::she frowns a little at the
price, but then shrugs, smiling:: Ah, oh well. What else have
I been saving this money for anyway? ::hands over the correct
amount of cash::
YarnKittymon: LB: I gave you as big a discount
as I could. It's a pity I couldn't give them to you free, but
I think I'd lose the shop if I did that.
Maeve Owens: CI: ::laughs:: Oh, thats okay.
I wouldn't think you could. Thanks for the discount though. ::smiles::
YarnKittymon: LB: So why didn't your siblings
come along?
Maeve Owens: CI: Well, I'm pretty sure Edusa
is looking after Father and Banrak was so intrigued by a street
musician that I couldn't drag him away.
YarnKittymon: LB: ::laughs:: There's a concert
tonight; you should come. Or maybe see the film in the theater.
Have you ever seen a movie before?
Maeve Owens: CI: ::shakes her head:: No I haven't.
Maybe I can talk Banrak into staying long enough to see one. That
would be neat.
YarnKittymon: LB: You really should. I saw it
last night; there's several songs. All the actors have German
accents, though.
Maeve Owens: MV: ::frowns:: I wouldn't suggest
taking a man to see *that* movie. They tend to get uncomfortable
over risque photos and women in those situations.
YarnKittymon: LB: ::looks back at Maeve, a little
surprised:: Jack didn't seem to mind.
Maeve Owens: MV: Isaac did. ::shakes her head::
Maeve Owens: CI: ::frowns:: Well, then perhaps
I shouldn't suggest the movie to Banrak. Is there anything else
showing?
YarnKittymon: LB: ::shakes her head:: But there's
that concert; I'm sure your brother will love it, if he was enthralled
by a guitarist. ::grins:: I'm sure they'll have dancing, too;
you can wear one of those new dresses and have a dozen partners.
Maeve Owens: CI: ::nods; smiling:: Okay, I'll
tell him about it. I'm sure he'll want to stay after I tell him
about the music.
YarnKittymon: LB: I'd love to join you, but I
haven't anyone to dance with, and besides, I promised Maeve we'd
go out and have a party.
Maeve Owens: MV: What do you mean you have no
one to dance with? Isn't that rock on your finger proof enough?
::grins::
Maeve Owens: CI: ::when Maeve mentions the rock
she glances down at Libby's hand:: Oh my! How could I have not
noticed? Are you getting married Libby?
YarnKittymon: LB: ::nods, smiling, though not
as widely as she had been:: To Jack, of course. ::holds out her
hand for Ciama to admire the ring:: But Jack's away on business
for a couple days.
Maeve Owens: CI: Oh! How wonderful. Congratulations.
Maeve Owens: MV: ::looks confused:: Away on
business?
YarnKittymon: LB: ::nods to Ciama, smiling::
Thank you. ::looks back at Maeve, the smile fading somewhat::
He was promoted, so he's working on buying supplies for the tavern,
in Gate Town and on the mainland.
Maeve Owens: MV: Oh. Well, thats pretty good
for him then.
YarnKittymon: LB: ::nods, smiling at Maeve::
But if you'd rather take someone to the concert, I can keep myself
entertained.
Maeve Owens: MV: No, I suggested we'd go and
celebrate and celebrate is what we're going to go and do. ::grins::
YarnKittymon: LB: ::goes to put Ciama's new clothes
in a couple bags, but hesitates:: Did you want to wear one today,
while you're in town?
Maeve Owens: CI: ::nods:: Oh yes, that would
be wonderful. ::smiles::
YarnKittymon: LB: ::hands her one of the dresses
and waits while the young woman's in the changing room::
Maeve Owens: CI: ::she comes back out modeling
her new favorite dress:: How does it look? ::grins::
YarnKittymon: LB: ::grins:: I think you're beautiful,
and it just makes a good thing better...but I'm hardly a partial
judge. Maeve?
Maeve Owens: MV: ::nods:: Oh yes, definitely
guaranteed to turn the head of a few young gentlemen.
YarnKittymon: LB: ::grins:: If you fell in love
with a man in town and married him, your father couldn't stop
you from living here.
Maeve Owens: CI: ::laughs:: Great! Thanks for
your help.
YarnKittymon: LB: You're welcome. Come back soon...when
you get the money saved, anyway. ::grins::
Maeve Owens: CI: ::grins:: Oh, I will. ::waves
goodbye a she leaves the store::
Maeve Owens: MV: ::waves back::
